a. Now track Short Notice Cancellations (SNC) separately from regular cancellations using the new ‘Mark as Short Notice Cancellation’ option available when cancelling appointments.
b. Set a Short Notice Threshold timeframe in General Settings → No Show & Cancellations.
- Any appointment cancelled within this timeframe falls under SNC automatically.
c. Quickly identify SNCs with a dedicated SNC indicator across the system, including the Missed Appointment modal, Appointment Lists, Cancelled Appointment Tiles, and the Scheduler Legend.
2. Block Slots Up to a Year
- Slots can now be blocked for up to a year, previously limited to three months.
3. Find Slots for Recall Due Dates in One Click
- When scheduling a recall appointment from the Clipboard, the Find Slot search date now automatically defaults to the recall due date, enabling users to view relevant slot availability without manually selecting the date.
1. Auto-Populate Care Notes with Quick Links
a. Stop typing the same details over and over. Care Note templates now support Quick Links that auto-populate information already available in the system when a note is created from the template.
Insert additional quick links directly in a note using ’#’, even if they are not part of the saved template.
b. Add Quick Links to a template in Practice Settings → Clinical → Care Note → Templates.
2. Capture Tooth and Quadrant Details and Include in Claims
a. A new Tooth and Quadrant option is now available in Procedure Code Settings.
- When configured, users can select a tooth while the corresponding quadrant is automatically populated, ensuring both details are included in claim submissions.
- This helps improve claim accuracy and reduce rejections from carriers that require both tooth and quadrant information.
3. A Fresh Look for Treatment Plan Print or Present with a New Summary Option
a. The new Print Summary and Present Summary option in the Treatment Plan displays phase-level and overall treatment plan totals while hiding individual code-level details, providing a concise summary that can be shared through the patient portal or via print.
b. The refreshed Treatment Plan Print features a cleaner layout, offering a more polished presentation of treatment plan information.
4. Insurance Breakdown on Treatment Plan Prints
a. The printed Treatment Plan now shows a separate Ins. 1 and Ins. 2 when Show Ins. Breakdown is enabled, giving patients a clear view of how their insurance contributions are split.
b. Show Ins. Breakdown is now available in Chart → Tx. Plans, in addition to the Treatment Planner.
5. Now Add Dental Assistants as Clinical Users
a. A new Dental Assistant provider type has been introduced in the system.
- Now mark a new User as a clinical user and select their provider type, as Dental Assistant, in the Clinical Details section.
b. Dental Assistants appear only in relevant assistant fields such as Care Note Assistant, Clinical Case Assistant, and as secondary/tertiary providers of an appointment where applicable.
- They are excluded from provider-only lists and cannot be selected as a primary provider for appointments.
c. A new visual indicator ‘O’ is displayed to enhance the visibility of dental assistants within the appointment tile.
- Based on ‘Manage Appointment Timing’ configurations, the symbol will display alongside the dentist for shared tasks, or solo when only the assistant is required for a specific time slot.
6. Upload Images Directly to Treatment Plan Agreements
- The Treatment Plan Agreement now supports uploading images directly from the system eliminating the previous URL-only upload limitation.
7. Flexible Mapping for Recalls by Production Type
a. Previously, recalls linked to a single production type were missed when a patient's appointment was booked under a different production type. Now, when you set up a Recall, you can link it to multiple production types, increasing control and flexibility for scheduling.
b. The new Recall Production Type field lets you set production types for the recall appointment, ensuring it is linked and scheduled correctly when the appointment is scheduled using any of the configured production types.
8. Add Implant Details Directly to Care Notes
a. Insert Implant details directly into Care Notes, using the new ‘+ Implant’ option, available in the Chart and on the Add Care Note slide-out.
- Select the implant site and the details you want to include, and CareStack will automatically add the information to the note, making implant documentation more efficient.
9. Permission to Control Deletion of Finalized Care Notes
- Practices can now restrict users from deleting Clinical Notes in finalized status with the new ‘Delete Finalized Clinical Notes’ permission under Treatment And Note.
10. Perio Chart Supports Two-Digit Values for MGJ
a. Perio Charting now supports two-digit values for the mucogingival junction (MGJ) field to accommodate additional clinical scenarios.
- Hold Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac) to enter double digits.
11. Enhancements to the Perio Chart
a. Unerupted teeth are now automatically disabled in the perio chart when adding a new chart, ensuring probing is performed only on clinically applicable teeth.
b. Probing over implants now aligns with a tooth's latest clinical timeline, recognizing implants as the current clinical status regardless of prior conditions such as extraction, missing status, or bridge pontics.
1. Add Appointment Reason Descriptions in Online Booking
Enable the Show Appointment Reason Descriptions setting to display short descriptions added to appointment reasons in the Online Appointment Portal, helping patients choose the most appropriate appointment type.
2. Print Patient Labels with DYMO Label Printers
a. Print patient labels directly from CareStack using DYMO printer, eliminating the need for handwritten labels.
- Use the new Print Label option from the appointment tile (scheduler) or Patient Profile to quickly create labels for patient charts, mailings, appointment reminders, insurance documents, and custom alerts.
- Choose your label size, select the specific patient data to print, and add extra details like phone numbers or custom messages.
Note: To enable DYMO label printing, please contact support@carestack.com.
3. Enhancements in Office Wizard
a. Easily add Patient Conditions, Allergies, and Medications quick links into your templates to automatically pull profile data into referrals, documentation, and consent forms.
b. Patient Height and Weight are now available as both System Components and Quick Links.
- When a patient submits these values via forms, they automatically syncs to the Patient Measurements section in the Prescriptions, eliminating manual data entry so providers can instantly calculate BMI and verify medication dosages.

- You will now see a confirmation message after clicking Print and Sign on a Medical History Form, ensuring you do not accidentally complete the form before it is ready.
2. Highlight Critical Questionnaire Responses in Medical History Forms

- You can enable this setting for Single Choice, Multiple Choice, and Dropdown questions.
- Highlighted responses are displayed across Medical History Forms, Clinical Summary, and Care Notes, with associated notes now shown in Clinical Summary and Care Notes.
3. Improved Current Medication Entry in Medical History Forms
a. The Current Medication section in Medical History Forms has been enhanced across Patient Portal, Kiosk, Connect, and the PMS.
- Patients are now prompted to confirm when proceeding without adding any medications, helping prevent accidental omissions.
- Providers can now easily identify when a patient explicitly reports taking zero medications, removing the confusion of a blank entry.
- The Start Date and End Date fields are now marked as optional, with additional guidance clarifying that they can be left blank if the patient does not know the end date.
4. Identify Inactive Patients Instantly
- You can now see an Inactive label next to inactive patients in key areas like the Patient Snapshot, Account Summary, Linked Members and Patient Overview, allowing you to identify inactive members without opening their profile.
5. View 6 Months of Communication Usage & Costs
- For applicable accounts, users can now view Communication Usage Analytics for the past six months and review usage and costs for specific billing cycles.

2. Enhanced Statement Customization & Automated Dispatch
We have updated the statement generation workflow to give you greater flexibility over location branding and fully automate your daily billing cycles.

- Easily customize and override the Return Address and Remittance Address for specific locations, while the rest of your statement setup remains managed at the account level.
b. Location Logo is now available as a new option within the Logo Type.
c. The phone number has been decoupled from the specific address field. You can now mix and match, such as printing your main account address while listing a specific clinic's phone number so patients call the right office.
d. A new Automatically send statements after generation option is now available under Other Settings.
- When turned on, your statements will automatically default to your preferred delivery choice (like print, mail, or patient portal) the moment they are generated, while still giving you the flexibility to manually change the delivery method whenever you create or schedule statements.
e. Now you have the ability to configure recurring batch statements on a daily basis.
