Touchpoints to Access Add Message Modal
You can access the Add Message modal through the following touchpoints.
1. + Message Quick Link in Patient Overview
- Select the patient using the Global Search Bar.
- Click the + Message quick link from the Patient Overview page.
2. + Message Quick Link in Appointment Slide-out
- Click on an appointment from the Scheduler or Appointments page.
- Click on the + Message quick link.
3. Scheduler
- Right-click on an appointment from the Scheduler.
- Click Email/SMS.
4. Patient Menu
- Select the patient using the Global Search Bar.
- Click Menu and select the Send Email/SMS option.
Send a Text or Email
| Note: The enhanced Add Message modal will not be available across all touchpoints if the correspondence feature is not enabled at the account level. |
In the Add Message modal:
Select the Send Email or Send Text tab as needed.
For Email
Enter the following information:
- The selected patient's name will be pre-populated in the To field.
- The From email address automatically defaults to the configured mailbox.
- Enter the Subject of the email.
- Enter the content for the email. Or,
- You can select a Template to populate a saved email template.

- Select Use Blank Template to create a template from scratch.
- Select Upload HTML Template to import an HTML file.
- To sort by Alphabetical Order, click the A icon.
- Click Delete to remove the template.
- Click Manage Templates to navigate to Practice Settings > Templates. Click here to know more.
- To add any attachments, drag and drop files or click Browse Files to upload files from your system.
- Click Send Email.
For Text
Enter the following information:
- You will see the Patient's Name and Phone Number.
- Enter the Content for the text message.
- If you have a saved template, you can choose the desired one from the left.
- To sort by Alphabetical Order, click the A icon.
- Click the Image icon to insert an image.
- Click the Emoji icon to add an emoji.
- Note: Users can email support@carestack.com to have it enabled. The CareStack team will provide the MMS addendum for your review and signature. After the signed addendum is received, MMS will be enabled for your practice.
- Click Send.

| Tip: If you close the Add Message modal without completing the email or text message, it will be automatically saved as a draft. You can access the draft emails or texts from the Communication Hub on the Dashboard. |
