Let's explore how to deactivate a user or provider.
- Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Administration > Users.
- Search for the intended User or Provider you want to disable.
- Once the user or provider is located, click Deactivate User on the far right.
In the Deactivate User slide-out that appears,
- Select the Deactivation Type:
- Deactivate Indefinitely: The account/service will remain deactivated until manually reactivated.

Deactivate for a Time Period : The account/service will be automatically reactivated after the selected duration.
- If you have selected Deactivate for a Time Period, then select the Deactivation Start Date and Deactivation End Date from the date picker.
- Click Next.
- Default Provider for Patients: If this provider is currently set as the default provider for any patients, you will need to assign a new default provider to take their place.
- Scheduled Appointments: If the provider has any upcoming appointments, you will be required to assign a new treatment provider. (You can view a list of these appointments if needed.)
- Ortho Payment Plans: If the provider is assigned as an Ortho Provider for any existing Ortho Payment Plans, you must designate a replacement ortho provider. (A list of these plans is available for review if needed.)
- By deactivating the selected User, the following changes will take place :
- The Default Provider for the affected patients will be changed to your selected Replacement Provider.
- Scheduled Appointments at the stated location(s) will be assigned to your selected Replacement Provider.
- The Ortho Payment Plans for this Provider at the stated location(s) will be assigned to your selected Replacement Provider.
- Users will no longer be able to assign Appointments and Treatments to this provider.
- Users will no longer be able to create New Appointments, Treatments, or Authorizations for this provider.
- The provider will not be present in the Production Calendar.
- The provider will no longer be listed in drop-downs listing providers (except in Audit Trail, Claims, and Reports). Please note that the provider will not be available in the Scheduler drop down as well.
- Users will no longer be able to create or save Campaigns for this provider.
- User Login for this provider will be deactivated on the selected starting date.
