Configure Odontogram Settings
Take a look at this tutorial for a brief walkthrough.
To update the odontogram status settings, perform the steps below.
Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Clinical > Odontogram Settings.
Here you can view the odontogram statuses listed in chronological order.
Tip: Each status will have a particular color to distinguish it from others. Transparency is another feature of the odontogram status, which allows the user to see multiple treatment types on a single tooth. |
Click Edit to configure the status settings.
- You can change the Color for any status as needed.
- To enable or disable Transparency for any status type,
- Click on the Toggle button for the intended item.
- Click Save to update the changes.
Set Odontogram Status & Draw Type to Codes

After setting the color and transparency adjustments to the odontogram status hierarchy, you can link them to codes. Perform the steps below.
Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Codes > Procedure Codes.
- Locate the required Code.
- Click the code to edit it.
Click Edit at the bottom right.
- Select the intended Draw Type.
- On the right-hand side of the slide-out, you can have the Tooth Preview.
- Select the Code Status.
- You can determine if Transparency is Enabled or Disabled.
- To update the Color or Transparency of statuses,
- Click Edit on the Preview section to open the Odontogram Settings on a new page.
- Click Save.
View Treatments & Conditions on Odontogram

You can view multiple layers of treatments and conditions on a single tooth. To utilize the information on the Odontogram, perform the steps below.
- Select the patient using the Global Search bar.
- Hover over Clinical > select Chart.
Hover over a tooth to view the following information that varies for different teeth:
- Proposed Treatment with a Condition
Completed Treatment with a Condition
Completed Treatment with a Proposed Treatment
Layers of Proposed Treatment on a tooth dependent on the Draw Type
Active Conditions

Supernumerary teeth are now represented with a smaller tooth adjacent to the main tooth.
- Extractions made on supernumerary teeth are marked with an extraction draw type on the smaller teeth.

If you need to view the sum of Total Fee, Discount, and Patient Payable of specific codes.
- Select the desired codes to view the details below.
Changing Status from Planned to Complete
When you set the treatment status of a tooth with Planned Treatment to Complete.
- You can see the affected tooth with the Completed Treatments portrayed visually.
- Extracted and missing teeth will have their treatments hidden.
Active & Inactive Conditions
Another feature of the odontogram allows you to see the history of the tooth if a condition has been marked as Inactive.
When you Mark As Inactive, the condition will no longer show on the dental chart, but you can see the condition history as Inactive Condition.

1. Toolbox
The toolbox has 4 options.
| 1. Select: Select this tool to use the mouse pointer to click on items as usual. | |
| 2. Draw: Select this tool to draw on the tooth chart. Users can mark the teeth by drawing around them as needed. | |
| 3. Color Chart: Change the color of the Draw tool here. | |
| 4. Erase: Select this tool to erase the drawings on the tooth chart. |

2. Legend
Click on the Legend icon to see how the teeth appear on the tooth chart for different Conditions, Treatments, Materials, Tooth Chart Colors, and CDT Categories.

3. Dentition
- Use the Dentition tool to sort the teeth view by Permanent, Primary, or Unerupted dentition.
- The three different options on the Dentition tool are:
- Change all to Primary: Select this option to see the primary arrangement of teeth.
- Change all to Permanent: Select this option to see the permanent dentition of the patient.
- Change all to Unerupted: Select this option to see unerupted teeth.
4. Toggle Dimension
Click the Toggle Dimension icon to change the teeth view to 2D or 3D.
5. Print
- Click the Print icon to print the currently selected view on the tooth chart.
6. Grid View
- Click the Grid View icon to change the view of the grid below the tooth chart.
- The three different views are as follows.
- Normal: Line items in the dental grid that are displayed without colour coding.
- Procedure Code (CDT): Line items in the dental grid that are colour-coded according to their respective CDT categories.
- Treatment Status (STS): Line items in the dental grid that are colour-coded according to their respective treatment statuses.
7. Notes Mode
- Click on the Notes Mode icon to change the mode of notes linked to the chart.
- The two different modes are as follows.

Normal Mode: Notes linked to the code are automatically prompted for review.
- You can choose to save as a draft or finalise the note.
- Burst Mode: Notes linked to the code are saved as drafts in the grid below instead of being prompted.

8. Filter View
Click this option to quickly switch views that display the Selected Treatment Plan, or all Conditions or Treatments of the patient as required. This option will only be available if you select the Tx Plan (Treatment Plan) tab and select a treatment plan.
