Clinical System Lockout is a feature that keeps your records intact by preventing any further changes once they have been locked down. Some practices choose to do this action on a monthly basis so that all the records are verified and correct, and then locked down to prevent any further changes going into the next month.
Let's get started!
- Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Clinical > Clinical Lockout.
- Here, you can check the status of Clinical Lockout for your practice.
- To enable Clinical Lockout, contact support@carestack.com.
Note: Here is how it will appear in the system once the Clinical Lockout is enabled. |
Impacts Post Clinical Lock Out are as follows:
Deleting Codes/Conditions/Documents/Notes: Deleted procedure codes, conditions, or notes that are locked out will be shown in dental charting grids and will be struck off.
Editing Notes: Notes will not be editable once they have been locked out. With regard to editing Procedure Code details, clinical details of a locked-out procedure code cannot be edited.
| Note: Care Notes can be auto-finalized on Clinical Lockout. To enable this, navigate to Practice Settings > Clinical > Care Notes and enable the Auto-finalize Care Notes on clinical lockout toggle. |
Editing Conditions: Clinical details of a locked-out condition cannot be edited. Conditions can be marked as 'Not Applicable' and the corresponding drawing will be removed from the chart.
Voiding Prescriptions: Voided prescriptions that are locked out will be shown in the dental charting grid and will be struck off.
Note: If you disable your clinical lockout feature that has previously been enabled, please be aware that your users with the appropriate profile permissions will be able to go back and update these clinical details that were previously locked down, such as procedure codes, tooth conditions, and clinical notes. |
