Purpose
The Aging Report is the primary report for tracking all outstanding balances owed to the office by both patients and insurance companies.
Think of it as your Accounts Receivable control center for managing collections and maintaining healthy cash flow.
Best Practices
Run report weekly/monthly utilizing the Summary View as your primary workflow.
Use it to:
Monitor overdue balances
Track insurance collections preventing delays
Identify collection opportunities
Keep A/R under control
When utilized regularly, it will:
Improve cash flow
Reduce aging balances
Prevent missed or delayed collections
It shows:
Insurance Aging
Patient Aging
Aging buckets:
0–30: Recent balances
31–60: Follow-up stage
61–90: At-risk balances
91–120+: High-risk / overdue
Contracted balance
Total outstanding
Insurance Unapplied Credits
Patient Unapplied Credit of Patients with Outstanding – refers to a situation in billing where a patient has a credit on their account (money paid that hasn’t been applied to a specific code), and the same patient also has outstanding patient or insurance balances.
Net Accounts Receivable - the total amount you expect to collect from outstanding balances. Be sure to allocate unapplied credits to open balances to accurately determine your true A/R standing.
Step-by-Step: How to Generate the Report
Step 1: Navigate to the System Menu > select Operational Reports under Insights
Search for Aging Report and click Generate Report
Step 3: Configure Filters
Recommend the following default settings:
Aging Date Range = Recent Aging
View: Summary View
As of Day = Yesterday
Group By = location
Calculate Age Using = Date of Service
Include = Any Balance (Patient & Account Balance)
Please note: If you chose to migrate balances, it is recommended to select Show Separate Section for Migrated Production.

If the report is not visible- connect with a super admin at your office to enable your permissions.
