In preparation for the 5.34 Release in December 2023, we have two important ledger changes that apply to the new customizable ledger.

- The View More
- The Running Total
We listened to feedback received from multiple clients on how the ‘View More’ was not a preferred workflow to load the available 6 months of data in the patient ledger. Having rectified this, we are rolling out the easy ‘Scroll’ functionality that will continue to load data as you keep scrolling.
We observed that the Running Total was not calculating correctly owing to two factors:
1. Since the ledger loaded 6 months of data by default, the running total dollar number would start with the oldest transaction for the recent 6 months, and then change while loading more data past the 6 months.
a. We rectified this problem by introducing the easy ‘scroll’ functionality and changing the logic to always calculate a ‘balance forward’.
2. Also, the ledger was sorted by default with the newest at the top; therefore, the running total was not calculating accurately.
a. We rectified this problem by changing the logic to accurately calculate the running total when sorting the ledger newest at the top, oldest at the top, or using the date range filter.
Exceptions when the Running Total will display incorrect results:
1. If you are using the filter by section, such as only showing completed codes and patient payments.
2. If you have used your Ledger Customization to not show adjustments.
