Utilizing the Lightning Bar Functionalities

Let's get started!

• To access the lightning bar, click the Lightning Bar sidebar on the far right of the system.

• The bar displays the configured operatories. To learn how to setup the operatories, click here.

Move Appointments to the Lightning Bar

Users can move an appointment to the Lightning Bar by dragging it from the Patient Tracker or the Scheduler, or by selecting a Lightning Bar trigger status for the appointment.

a) Drag and Drop the Appointment

• Drag the appointment from the patient tracker or the scheduler to the desired operatory in the Lightning Bar.
  • The Appointment Status becomes the Default Appt Status.
  • The Lightning Bar Status becomes the Default Lightning Bar Status.

b) Select the Lightning Bar Trigger Appointment Status

This can be done either from the Scheduler or from the Huddle Dashboard.

From the Scheduler

• Right-click on the desired appointment.
• Select a Lightning Bar Trigger Status.
  • Lightning Bar Trigger Status is set in the Practice Settings. Click here to know more.

• On the Add to Lightning Bar Chair modal,
  • Select the Lightning Bar Status.
  • Select Available Chair.
• Click Add to Lightning Bar.

From the Huddle Dashboard

• On the desired appointment, change the status to one of the Lightning Bar trigger appointment status.

• On the Add to Lightning Bar Chair modal,
  • Select the Lightning Bar Status.
  • Select Available Chair.
• Click Add to Lightening Bar.

Actions Available on the Lightning Bar

• To access the HIPAA view, click the H icon on the top of the Lightning Bar.
• To access the lightning bar Settings, click the Settings icon at the top.

• To mark an appointment as Emergency,
  • Right-click the desired appointment.
  • Toggle Mark as Emergency.

Tip:

• When an appointment is marked as an Emergency, it is visually highlighted with a red lightning border to ensure quick identification.
•  Select ‘Show in Emergency’ to display only emergency appointments.

• Other right-click actions include: Change Lightning Bar Status, Change Appointment Status, Patient details  and Edit Appointment.

Note: The right-click action items vary depending on whether the practice is Ortho or Ortho + General.
