Key Benefits to Your Practice
- You do not have to log in to iPADs to check eligibility or initiate checkouts.
- You do not have to wait for patients to be in practice to know their pre-qualified amounts.
- You do not have to manually create receipts if the patient completes the checkout with Sunbit.
How it works
1. Configure Sunbit in CareStack
You have the option to set Sunbit per location, and even set up each location differently based on the need.
a. Set the Preferences for when a Receipt is to be created.
- Navigate to the System Menu > Practice Settings > Services > Sunbit.
- Find the location for which you want to set up.
- Click Enable.
On the Configure Sunbit modal that appears:
- Select the Default Payment Type.
- Select Posting Preference when the receipt is auto-created post-checkout.
b. Fill out the Onboarding Form with Sunbit

Note: Once a practice has filled out the form and if they are new to Sunbit, a Sunbit representative would call the practice, set up a sales/ demo call, and answer any open questions the practice would have. This may take 1-2 weeks after the practice is onboarded. |

2. Estimate Financing Amounts
Estimate Amount or “As Low As” is a tentative amount for which the patient can get financed by Sunbit.
| Note: This is just a rough estimate that can be used to inform the patient how much financing can cover for them. |
If you are logged in to a location that is integrated with Sunbit, you will see a Sunbit banner on these screens:
a. Patient Overview and Patient Payment Screen: The Estimate amount is calculated based on the Patient’s Net Balance.
b. Patient Tx Planner: The Estimate amount is calculated based on the Patient Estimate amount.
3. Send Pre-Qualification Link
a. Before you Initiate Pre-qualification.
i. Make sure you are logged in to the location that is enabled with Sunbit.
ii. Make sure the Patient you want to check the pre-qualification for has a phone number and has text notifications enabled.
b. How to Check the Amount for which the Patient is Pre-qualified?
i. On the Sunbit banner > click Send Pre-Qualification > click Confirm.
- The patient would receive a text message on their phone with a link.
- When the patient validates their information on this link- an email is sent to them along with the pre-qualification link.
- When the patient opens the link and checks their pre-qualification amount on the Sunbit website, the same gets reflected on Carestack like below:
Let’s assume that the patient is interested in opting for the financing plan after seeing their pre-qualified amount. In such an instance, the practice can initiate a checkout for the patient as discussed below.
4. Initiate Checkout
a. Before you Initiate Pre-qualification
i. Make sure you are logged in to the location that is enabled with Sunbit
ii. Make sure the Patient you want to check the pre-qualification for has a phone number and has text notifications enabled.
b. How to Initiate Checkout
- Navigate to Patient Overview> Billing > Payment screen.
- On the Sunbit banner > click Checkout.
OR Enter the Payment Amount > choose the right Payment Type from the dropdown (as per Sunbit setup) and click on Pay with Sunbit at the bottom.
Both these actions open a pop-up like this:
- When the user clicks on Proceed, a text message with a Checkout link will be sent to the patient.
- When the patient completes the downpayment with Sunbit: a receipt with the the amount equivalent to the amount entered in the pop-up above will be auto-created and added to the patient’s ledger.
