Users can pre-set templates of clinical narratives within Practice Settings as well as have the ability to pull up a list, select the intended narrative, and incorporate it within Care Notes.
The Smart Phrases feature aids practices in quickly setting up narratives that aptly describe patient-specific dental problems and procedures. Enabling this feature within the system lets users create and save a stock of easy-to-use, built-in narrative templates.

To use the smart phrases, perform the steps below.
- Search for the patient in the Global Search bar > Select Clinical > Chart.
- Click Care Notes.
- You can begin documenting care notes directly in the field.
- Enter '+' to pull a list of smart phrases. Select the intended smart phrase by scrolling down or entering the keyword.
The smart phrases will be displayed on the care note. Make changes to the smart phrase to customize the notes, if needed.
You can also enter the smart phrase on the expanded view. Click Expand to see the expanded Care Notes view.
