Create New Smart Phrases
To create a new smart phrase, perform the steps below.
- Navigate to the System Menu > Practice Settings > Clinical > Care Notes.
- Select Smart Phrases > click +Add New.
- Enter the Keyword that would pop up while you press + in Care Notes.
- Choose if you want the smart phrase to be location-specific or not. If you choose Custom for Tag to Location option, select the location.
| Note: Smart Phrases tagged with locations have restricted visibility, accessible only within their designated treatment locations. This impacts listing filters in care notes. |
- Enter the content for the smart phrase on the given field.
- Click Save.

Manage Smart Phrases
You can edit, delete, or duplicate an existing smart phrase from the Practice Settings.
To edit an existing smart phrase:
- Select the intended smart phrase from the left > click Edit.
- Make the required changes > click Save.
To delete a smart phrase:
- Click on the Three-dots menu > click Delete.
- Click Delete on the confirmation modal.
To duplicate an existing smart phrase:
- Click on the Three-dots menu > click Duplicate.
- Make changes to the duplicated information, if needed. You can change the Keyword as preferred for the new duplicated smart phrase.
- Click Save.
Practices can perform the simple steps mentioned above to set up new smart phrases and manage them in the grid.
