Imaging Software that Integrates Closely with CareStack
We have 3 Imaging Software that have 2-way integration with CareStack, follow the below steps for each Imaging Software for integration.
We have three Imaging Software with 2-way integration with CareStack. Follow the steps below to integrate each one.
1. Apteryx
There are two steps for Apteryx integration:
- The first step is to integrate local XVCapture with CareStack.
- In order to link XV Capture and start capturing patient images, you need to have it installed first, then retrieve the "target path" for the program.
Perform the steps below.
- Locate the XV Capture program on your desktop (or search your Program Files, then right-click > select Send To > then select Desktop).
Once you have located your XV Capture program, right-click the program icon, then select Properties from the drop-down menu.
- The program path in the Target field is usually automatically highlighted.
- Right-click on it and copy the text.
- Select the patient using the Global Search Bar.
- Hover over Clinical > click Chart.
- Click the Imaging tab at the bottom.
- Click the Configure icon.
In the Add Clinical Tool pop-up, enter the following details:
- Select Apteryx as the Tool.
- Paste the copied program Path into the appropriate field.
Note: Remove any quotation symbols on the Path if there are any.
- Click Add.
- You will receive a toast notification stating 'Imaging tool configured successfully'.
Refresh the page and test the integration to make sure it works:
- Click Launch Imaging Software and select Apteryx.
- If a dialogue box asks about opening the program, select Always Open.
- If XV Capture opens, then it is properly configured.
- If XV Capture does not open, then you may need to contact support@carestack.com.
- Now that your imaging software is fully configured from both the user interface and the back end, you need to take a sample x-ray using a tester patient profile.
- If the thumbnail populates within the patient's chart, you are good to go.
Note: If you are experiencing any issues with your Apteryx Imaging Software, do reach out to Apteryx support at (877) 278-3799. Meanwhile, the CareStack team will help as much as they can to the extent of their knowledge. For more information on how to use your XV Capture software, check out resources from Apteryx.
Integrating Cloud component with CareStack
XV Web is Apteryx's cloud solution that enables you to store and access your clinical imaging database. Integrating it with your CareStack platform will allow us to draw your patient's images from this database and display them in the Clinical Imaging tab of the patient’s chart.
- To proceed, collect your unique URL, Username, and Password for your admin account.
When you are ready, reach out to your CareStack representative and we can get this process started for you.
Note: If your XV Web credentials are changed at some point but not updated in CareStack, this will affect the integration and your patient images will no longer appear in their chart. Once this integration is complete, you can later update these credentials as needed by navigating to System Menu > Practice Settings > Services > click Configure on the Apteryx XV Web section.
2. SOTA Cloud
Practices can set their default Imaging View and configure SOTA inside CareStack by selecting an option in the Practice Settings. Let's explore how users can maximize the enhanced clinical imaging features inside CareStack.
To find this,
- Navigate to System Menu > select Practice Settings > Services.
- Locate SOTA Imaging on the grid and click Configure.
- Enter the relevant login details for SOTA Imaging.
- Click Save.
Once this is done, your integration with SOTA Cloud will be complete. You can navigate to a patient and try opening SOTA Cloud from CareStack. Please reach out to support@carestack.com if you encounter any difficulties setting this up.
3. TigerView - CareStack Imaging

- Choose how to Show CareStack Imaging: whether in a New Tab or Modal.
- Show CareStack Imaging in New Tab: This will open the image in a new browser tab, and the user may need to navigate back to the CareStack tab to access the Clinical Chart.
- Show CareStack Imaging in Modal: This will open the image in a new window within the same tab, and the user may need to close it to access the Clinical Chart.
- Click Save.
Once the above steps are completed, open a few patients whose images have been acquired in TigerView and check whether those images appear in the Clinical slide-out. If you face any difficulties accessing the images in CareStack, please reach out to support@carestack.com.
