Operatories are the designated rooms within a dental practice where various dental procedures and treatments are carried out. In CareStack, operatories can be effectively managed and customized through the Practice Settings to simplify the process and ensure efficient patient care.

Watch this video for a concise summary.
- Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Locations > All Locations.
- In the Locations grid, click View on the extreme right of the preferred location.
- Under Location Details, click Operatory Settings on the left.
To Add an Operatory
- Select Edit at the bottom right of the Operatory Settings.
- Click the + Add Operatory.
- Enter the Operatory Name.
- Many practices will add 'OP 1' or 'OP A' as a preface to a provider's name.
- If you would like to have the surgeries appear in a particular order, you can add a number before the name. For example: '1 Dr. A', '2 Dr. B', '3 Hygiene A', etc.
- Select the Operatory Type, whether Billable or Non-Billable.
- Click Save.

- If you want to remove an operatory, click Delete for the intended operatory. Or,
- To bulk-delete operatories, select the intended operatories and click Delete on the top-right.
To Rearrange the order of the operatories,
- Click and move the drag and drop handle to the desired position.
- Click Save.
Manage Permissions

To enable Permissions,
- Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Administration > Profiles.
- Click Manage Permissions for the intended profile.
- Select Practice Settings.
- Under Location, select the Add/Edit Operatories, or Delete Operatory options to enable these permissions.
- Click Save.
- On the Confirm Action modal that appears, click Yes to proceed.
- A toast notification appears on the top right stating, 'Profile updated successfully'.
