Here is how you can find out if a patient has a membership or not. If they do have a membership, there are easy ways to find out the status of their subscription. Let's explore!
When you see a ‘Discounts available with Membership plan subscription’ banner on the Patient Overview, Appointment slide-out, Payment slide-out, or Treatment Planner, it means that the patient does not have a currently subscribed membership plan.
Touchpoints to View Discounts Available with a Membership Plan Subscription
a. Patient Overview
- Search for the patient using the Global Search Bar.
- The Membership Plan section is located on the right. The banner within this section displays the discounts available with the membership plan subscription.
b. Payment Slide-out
- When you add a payment without a membership subscription, the ‘Discounts Available’ banner appears.
c. Treatment Planner
- You can see the Discounts available banner on the Treatment Planner if you do not have a membership plan subscription.
d. Appointment Slide-out
- Drag and create an appointment within the scheduler.
- Inside the New Appointment Slide-out on the left, you can find the Membership Plan Section, and right under you will find the Discounts available with the Membership plan subscription banner.

Note: a. The insurance on file does not affect this banner. b. You cannot bill a code to insurance with a billing order of D or greater and then apply a membership discount on top of that. |
Membership Plan Billing Status
To fix a pending payment status of a membership plan, refer to Complete the Pending Payment of a Membership Plan.
Note: If a future payment fails for a plan, the Billing Status will show as Failed. This could occur due to reasons such as insufficient funds, an expired/locked card, or other issues. In such a situation, click on "Go to Payment Plan" at the top right. This action will open the Payment Plan details page, where you can select "Retry Payment." |
- You will not be able to view the Discounts available banner on the Appointment Slide-out for a patient who has an active membership.
- In such a scenario, select the Show Fee Estimates checkbox.
- This will display the membership icon next to each code.
| Note: The presence of the membership icon next to the code(s) indicates that members will receive a discount when those codes are used during checkout. To learn about the specific discounts associated with the codes, click on the related fee. This will open up the CodeStack. Go to the Membership Discount section to see details such as the patient amount, discount credit, and more. |
- On Patient Overview, you can see which membership plan the patient has subscribed to, its status, whether Auto-Renewal is On or Off, their Billing Cycle, and the Expiration date. If Auto-Renewal is turned on, the expiration date will state N/A.
- When you see a 'Patient has shown interest in Adult Prophy' (or any other plan) banner in the Appointment slide-out or Patient Overview, you can click on View Plans beside it to view the related membership plan and add it to the patient by selecting the Add Plan button on the right.
- If the patient is an active subscriber to the Membership Plan, this information will be displayed on the left side of the Appointment Slide-out.
