Introducing the Implant Tracker, a new section designed to assist dental practitioners in monitoring and staying informed about individualized patient treatments. This repository offers several advantages, including easy identification of implants. In the event of a potential risk of implant failure and/or supplier recall of implants, the tracker facilitates the identification and tracking of patients to address the issue promptly. This benefits both patients and the practice by ensuring the delivery of quality service.

Manage Implant Tracker
Explore this video for an in-depth walkthrough.
- Select the patient using the Global Search bar.
- Click Chart.
Hover over Clinical > select Implant Tracker.

The Implant Tracker features a grid showcasing detailed implant information.
- You can add implants by using +Add Implant.
- The Add Implant slide-out will appear where you have to enter the Treatment Details.
- Click on the + icon to update Implant System, Abutment, Membrane, Bone Graft, and Second Bone Graft details as required.
- Set the Implant Timeline by filling in the following dates:
- Consultation: Date of consultation.
- Extraction: Date of extraction.
- Bone Graft: Date of bone graft done.
- Second Bone Graft: Date of second bone graft done.
- Inserted On: Date the implant is inserted on.
- Exposure: The date when the healing collar is placed in.
- Completed On: The date when the procedure is completed.
- Removal On: The extraction date of that implant, If the implant fails.
Add Treatment Details:
- Select the Tooth from the chart for the Implant Site.
- Select the Type of Work, such as Single, Bridge, Multiple, or Edentulous.
- Select the Provider.
- Select the Location.
- Select the Referring Provider.
- Enter the Stability Test.
- Utilize +Add Note to input necessary information.
Add Implant System Details:
- Select the System Supplier from the List.
- Enter the Implant Type.
- Enter the Fixture Size.
- Enter the Reference Number.
- Enter Lot Number.
- Utilize +Add Note to input necessary information.
Add Abutment:
- Select the Abutment from the List.
- Enter the Abutment Type.
- Enter the Size in mm.
- Enter the Reference Number and Lot Number.
Add Membrane:
- Select the Membrane from the List.
- Select the Membrane type such as Resorbable or Non-Resorbable.
- Enter the Material Type.
- Enter the Reference Number and Lot Number.
- Select the Expiration Date.
Add Bone Graft and Second Bone Graft:
- Select the Bone Graft from the List.
- Autograft
- Allograft
- Xenograft
- Alloplast
- Select the Bone Graft Supplier from the List
- Enter the Graft Type.
- Enter the Reference Number and Lot Number.
- Select the Expiration Date.
- Utilize +Add Note to input necessary information.
Tip: Add similar information if there is a second bone graft. |
- Click Save at the bottom right.
| Note: You have the option to add new suppliers to the system using +Add Supplier. |
Add Supplier
- Add Supplier Name.

Checkmark the relevant box(es) to indicate the implant option(s) for the added supplier.
- Implant System
- Implant Membrane
- Implant Abutment
- Implant Bone Graft
- Click Save Changes.
Generate Print or Letter
Watch this video for a comprehensive walkthrough.
To generate a report printout for an implant(s) from the grid:
- Select the required Implant(s).
- Click Generate Print.
- The report printout will be generated for the selected implants.
| Note: When you are referring out a patient, you can generate a referral letter with the details of the implants included. |
To generate a letter:
- Click Generate Letter.
Select the Referral Letter template.
- You can edit the template content as needed.
- To add implant information, click Insert Implant Details.
- Select the Implant Site.
- Checkmark the required Fields to Add.
- The selected information will be displayed on the letter, such as System Supplier, Abutment Details, Reference #, etc.
- Click Add Details.
- The Implant Information will be displayed in a tabular format.
You will have to add the required signature.
- Select the Relationship to Patient (Rel. to Patient) and Provider.
- Click Add Signature.
- Once the signatures have been added, click Save.
Delete Implant Tracker
On the Implant Tracker, you can find the list of implants added.
To delete the desired implant:
- Checkmark the intended implant on the left.
- Click Delete.
| Note: Only users with Delete Permissions for the Implant Tracker can delete implants. |
A Confirm delete warning modal appears as shown below.
Click Delete to delete the implant.
Manage Permissions

To enable Permissions for the Implant Tracker:
- Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Administration > Profiles.
- Click Manage Permissions for the intended profile.
- Select Implant Tracker.
- Select the required permissions for Implant Supplier/Implant Tracker.
- Click Save.
- On the Confirm Action modal that appears, click Yes to proceed.
- A toast notification appears on the top right stating, 'Profile updated successfully'.
Practices can now leverage the Implant Tracker in CareStack to streamline the management of individualized treatments involving implants. By adopting this feature, practices can enhance efficiency, optimize patient outcomes, and ensure the delivery of top-quality care to patients undergoing implant procedures.
