Opportunity Miner is Now Real-Time |
The Opportunity Miner is a reliable analytics tool for practices, allowing them to generate patient lists with customizable filters for accurate targeting. These lists provide information on Collection and Production Opportunities along with many other metrics. Using Opportunity Miner, practices can send bulk messages or emails to all of the targeted patients in the generated list.

- To generate a new opportunity miner list with your intended filters, perform the steps given below. Navigate to the System Menu > Click Opportunity Miner under Insights.
- Click + Generate New List.
- Checkmark the desired filters from the list.
For example, selecting Demographic information allows you to Filter Patients using criteria such as + Account Status, + Account Type, + Gender, + Age, + Labels, + State, + Zip Code, + Missing Information, + Incomplete Forms, + Relationship to Responsible Party, + Alert Priority, + Facility, + Primary Referral Source, and + Primary Referral Sub-Category. - Based on your chosen filter criteria, radio buttons or dropdowns will appear; select accordingly to get the desired results.
Follow the steps below to learn how to select filter criteria and refine your search:
- You can set the criteria for the selected filters on the right side.
- The filters allow you to decide what information to show on the list.
- Add the required Filter criteria by clicking the '+' buttons. For example, click +Appointment Provider from the Appointments tile.
- Customize the criteria to drill down further into the filters.
- There are several options to customize the filter criteria.
- For example, you can select appointment providers and choose to apply the filter with the criteria In Any of to retrieve data accordingly. The other options are All of and None of.
- Another example is to select a time, and you can set the filter criteria as At the selected time, Before the selected time, or After the selected time.
- Click Next.
- Select the desired Columns to decide what additional information you want displayed on the list. Utilize the Search Bar to find our preferred columns.
- The selected columns will be listed on the right side of the slide-out. You can drag and reposition the order of the columns on the right side.
- Click Save & Generate. If you click Generate instead, it will generate the list without saving it for future use.
- Enter List Name > click Save. To get a name suggestion for the list, select the Use Suggested Name option.
- The list will be generated and displayed.
- To view opportunity miner lists that were created earlier, perform the steps given below. Here you can explore other features as well. Navigate to the System Menu > Click Opportunity Miner under Insights.
- Here you can view all the lists that were generated earlier.
- To set a list entry as a favorite, click on the star icon on the left of the entry.
- To see all favorite lists, select the Favorites on the Sort By dropdown filter. You can see the favorite lists stacking up towards the top.
- All lists that were previously saved in Patient Lists have been migrated over to Opportunity Miner and are now labeled with a 'Migrated' tag.
- To edit the Filters and Columns of generated lists, click Edit on the required list entry.
- To delete a list, click the three-dot menu on the required list entry > click Delete > click Delete on the confirmation modal.
- Click View on the required entry to see the opportunity miner list.
- On the list, you can see two cards on the top. The left card displays the following information for all patients on the list:
- All Patients: Number of all patients.
- Production Opportunity: The number of unscheduled treatments that are in accepted status for the generated patients.
- Collection Opportunity: The amount of insurance and patient receivable remaining after deducting the unapplied credits for the generated patients.
- The right card displays data for patients selected by you. The data includes the number of Selected Patients, Production Opportunity, Collection Opportunity, Patients opted in with Mobile, and Patients opted in with Email.
- To show variable data on the selected patients, select the required patient's checkboxes, and the data will be reflected on the right card. Check out the GIF given below.
- You can see if the patient has opted in for email, phone, or both by checking for these icons on the patient entry.
To send a text message to the selected patients, perform the steps given below.
| Note: Only the patients who opted in to receive messages will receive the text message. For specific patients, select the intended patient(s) and follow this workflow. |
- Click Send Message.
- Enter the intended Message or select a Saved Template from the left side.
- You can view the message as a preview on the right side of the modal.
- You can delete the saved template by clicking on Delete button on the right.
- Click the pencil icon to update the template name.
- Once done, you can update the existing template or save as a new one.
- To save the current changes to the existing template, click the Save drop-down and select Save Changes.
- To save as a new template, select Save as New option.
- Click Send Message.
- You will receive a toast notification as shown below.
To send an email, perform the steps given below.
| Note: Only the patients who opted in to receive emails will receive the email. For specific patients, select the intended patient(s) and follow this workflow. |
- Click Send Email on a generated list.
- Select a Saved Template to fill up the required fields if available.
- The Cost Estimate will be displayed on the top of the modal based on the number of patients.
- You can delete the saved template by clicking on Delete button on the right.
- Click the pencil icon to update the template name.
- Once done, you can update the existing template or save as a new one.
- To save the current changes to the existing template, click the Save dropdown and select Save Changes.
- To save as a new template, select Save as New option.
- If you need to write a custom new email, click Use Blank Template to clear all fields to start from scratch.
- Enter the Subject, Description, and Template Name.
- Enter the email content > click Send Email.
