While creating a new merchant ID, sometimes the system may fail to verify the bank account of the user in CS Pay. In that case, you might be asked to upload proof of your bank account. Let's take a quick walkthrough of the requirements of Banking Document Uploads.
File Format and Size Requirements for All Documents
- Formats: JPEG, JPG, PNG, or PDF (maximum 1 file)
- Size for PDFs: minimum 1 KB, maximum 2 MB
- Size for other formats: minimum 100 KB, maximum 2 MB
Types of Proof of Bank Account
- Bank statements
- Deposit tickets or deposit forms
- Screenshots of their online banking environment
- Official letters issued by a bank
- Cheques
Note: Never upload photos of credit or debit cards issued by the bank, due to the reason that they contain confidential information!
Requirements for All Documents
The minimum requirements of all documents are as follows.
- The document should display the Name of the Account holder clearly. This must match your legal entity name.
- The Account Number must be clear and visible.
- The Date of Issuance must be visible. It should be dated less than 12 months ago. This requirement applies to all types of documents except for cheques and online banking environments.
Note: Some online banking environments contain a date of issuance. The date of issuance for these must also be less than 12 months ago.
- The document should display the Country where the bank account is located.
- The document should contain the bank name, a bank logo, or a bank-specific font which are signs that it was a bank-issued document.
Note: If the bank account is issued under the trading name, it may be necessary to provide a supporting document to establish a connection between the legal entity and the trading name.
UNACCEPTED DOCUMENTS
- Photos of bank-issued cards, such as credit or debit cards.
- Edited or personalized documents.
- Documents issued more than 12 months ago.
- Documents where required data points are missing.
- Documents with cut-off, blurry, or low-quality images.
- Documents issued by third-party software platforms or programs.
Requirements for Specific Document Types
1. Direct deposit tickets and forms:
- Must contain a bank logo or bank letterhead.
- Can only be accepted with a stamp or signature from the bank.
2. Cheques:
- The name of the account holder, account number, and name of the financial institution or logo need to be printed (not handwritten).
- Security features need to be visible for cheques in the United States (US).
- The account number and routing number need to be fully visible.
- We can only accept scans or direct photos of cheques.
3. Letters from bank or bank account agreements:
- Must contain a bank logo or a bank letterhead.
- All letters must have a stamp or signature from the bank.
