Care Audit Rules provides an indicator when you fill out a code to indicate if you want to use a different code, leave a message, or have a message pop up to explain a rule for that specific code first. Let's delve into how to manage Care Audit Rules in the PMS.

Add Care Audit Rules
To get started, perform the steps below:
Navigate to the System Menu >select Practice Settings > Care Audit Rules.
In the Care Audit Rules grid:
- You will find Click to Activate, Code, Rule Type, Validation Message, and Alternate Code.
| Note: You can Click to Activate to activate the rule. Also, you can filter the Code, Rule Type, Validation Message, and Alternate Code. |
On the right-hand side of the Care Audit Rules section:
- Click +Add New Rules.
- Within the Add Rule Modal, select the Codes on the list.
- Select the Rule Type, you can click either Message or Alternate Code.
- Add a validation Message as needed.
- Click Save.
| Note: If it is an Alternate Code, you can enter the Alternate Code following the Message field. |
Select Edit/Delete to modify/remove the Care Audit Rules.
Configure Care Audit Rule in Clinical Chart
Select the patient using the Global Search bar > click Chart.
Select +Code to add a treatment code. To know more, click here.
- Right-click on the intended treatment code within the grid.
- Select Complete to open the Care Audit Alert.
The modal provides an option to select an Alternate code, if available.
If no alternate code is available, the modal will display only a message.
- When there is both a Message and an Alternate Code, the modal will display both.
- Click Proceed.
On the Complete modal,
- Select whether to Link to the appointment: Yes or No.
- If Yes, choose an Appointment from the drop-down list.
- Click Complete.
