Add Treatment via the +Code Slide-Out

Let's delve into the functionality of this feature.
- Select the Patient using the Global Search bar.
- Hover over Clinical > select Chart.
- Click the + Code on the upper right.

The Add Treatment slide-out displays the following options in three categories:
- Conditions
- Treatments
- Explosion Codes
- Use the Search bar on the top right to look up conditions or treatments.

Select Treatment Type (Planned, Existing or Completed), as suited to your requirements.
- By default, the Planned option will be selected.
- Select the desired conditions/treatments.
The added conditions/treatments will appear below.
- Add any mandatory details such as Surface, Tooth/Area, ICD Code, etc., as needed.
- Some procedure codes require additional details depending on how they are configured in your practice settings. To learn more about adding procedure codes, click here.

Surface: If surface selection is required, choose the relevant tooth surfaces involved in the treatment. Available options include Buccal, Lingual, Distal, Mesial, Occlusal/Incisal (Mesial Pit), Occlusal/Incisal (Distal Pit).
- The occlusal surface of molars and premolars is split into two sections, which enables treatments to focus on a portion of the surface rather than the entire area.
- Tooth: Tooth selection depends on how the procedure code is set up in the practice settings, along with the chosen dentition. Select the appropriate teeth as prompted.

Surface: If surface selection is required, choose the relevant tooth surfaces involved in the treatment. Available options include Buccal, Lingual, Distal, Mesial, Occlusal/Incisal (Mesial Pit), Occlusal/Incisal (Distal Pit).
- Click Apply to add to the list.

You can select Supernumerary Teeth for the related treatment codes.
- Select Supernumerary, if required.
- Add any mandatory details such as Surface, Tooth/Area, ICD Code, Modifiers, etc., as needed.
- Click Apply to add to the list.
- You can also select multiple teeth for treatment codes.
To enable multiple teeth for treatment codes:
Select Yes for the 'Applicable on multiple teeth' option available within Practice Settings (Procedure Codes).
Click Add to Treatment at the bottom right to add the code(s) to the Chart.
A toast notification will appear on the top right stating, 'Code(s) Added successfully.'

When adding Completed Codes from the Care Panel or the + Code slide-out without selecting an appointment beforehand, a link-to-appointment pop-up will appear.
If you choose Yes,
- Select the Appointment to link the treatment to.
- Click Complete.
If you choose No,
- Select the Location and Date of Service.
- Click Complete to proceed.
Change Status of a Treatment Code
Here are some of the different statuses:

- Select the patient using the Global Search bar.
- Hover over Clinical > select Treatment Planner.
- Inside the treatment planner, right-click on the intended code to change the status.
- A Confirm Status Change pop-up will appear.
- The modal will explain the impact of the status change.
- Click Proceed to continue.
Note: Whenever you change a Completed treatment code to a different status, you will receive a warning modal stating the impact of the code reversal. For example, the modal might indicate that the code is tied to a statement or linked to an active plan, and reversing it will have an impact on those elements. |
Complete Treatment Code

When a treatment procedure is completed, the status of the corresponding procedure code has to be set to Complete. This status change is important to maintain the patient's treatment record, track patient treatment progress, manage billing, and schedule future appointments.
To complete a code:
- Right-click on the code.
- Select the code status as Complete.
A Complete pop-up will be displayed:
- Select Yes or No to Link to appointment.
- If you have selected Yes, select the Appointment to link.
- Click Complete.
- If you have selected No, select the Location and Date of Service to complete the code.
- Click Complete.
| Note: If a discrepancy is found, there will be a warning pop-up. You can select an action based on requirements and click Proceed. |
- On Code Completion, the status on the grid will show as Paid.
Note: Payments can only be posted to completed codes. |
- To view a completed code that gets hidden once the code is completed, deselect Hide Completed Items.
Add Payments to Completed Treatment Codes
Once the treatment is completed,
Check the Fee for the completed treatment and Patient Payable.
Hover over Billing > select Payments.
- The payment details, along with the treatment code, will be displayed in the grid.
Note: Please make sure that the Treatment Location is the same as the Payment Location. If it is not, use the Payment Location drop-down to select the desired Location. |
