XChart Configuration
To enable XChart from the system, the practice must complete the initial configuration.
- Contact support@carestack.com to request XChart enablement.
- Once enabled, you can access and configure it from the Services page.
To configure XChart, perform the steps below.
- Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Services.
- Once on the Services page, click Configure next to XChart.
A Configuration modal will appear,
- Enter the following details:
- Organization Name
- Organization Email
- Plan/Sedation Level
- Click Save.
Once these details are saved, the XChart integration will be active and accessible through Clinical Cases.
Activate or Deactivate Users
The Launch XChart button appears only for users active in the User Access list, and access is blocked if the assigned Case Provider is not activated. To activate or deactivate users:
- Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Services.
- Once on the Services page, click Configure next to XChart.
On the XChart page, under the User Access List,
- Click Activate.
- This allows them to see and click the Launch X-Chart button from Clinical Cases.
- Click Deactivate.
- The Launch X-Chart button will be hidden from the user's view, preventing any accidental clicks that would trigger provider-level billing.
Launching XChart from Clinical Cases
Next, let's take you through the different aspects when launching XChart from clinical cases.
- Select the patient using the Global Patient Search Bar.
- Click Cases.
- Click View Details on the desired case.
- Click Appointments.
- Locate the appointment that you want to launch the XChart for.
- Hover over the Launch Xchart link
- Click Xchart Surgery Details from the drop-down.
You will undergo a handoff procedure, importing and updating all necessary information for XChart from this case. Subsequently, you will be seamlessly transitioned into an Xchart Anesthesia Record, where the relevant items will be generated or revised.
- Patient Name/DOB
- Appointment
- Provider name/info
- User Account using which you can sign into XChart automatically.
Upon signing or finalizing an appointment linked in this manner within XChart, the PDF file will be automatically posted back to CareStack. Consequently, it will be visible in both the 'Documents' tab for the respective clinical case and in the documents tab associated with that patient.

| Note: If you want to complete the medical history for a patient before their appointment is booked, you can launch XChart directly from clinical cases. When you book an appointment and launch a clinical case later, the medical history would get tied to the appointment automatically. |
Access XChart Pending Reports from System Menu for Providers
- Navigate to the System Menu > select XChart Pending Reports.
- Here, you can view the total count of pending reports for the logged-in Provider.
- You will be redirected to the Pending Reports dashboard within XChart.
